The Youngstown Symphony Orchestra Presents Musical Titans: Mahler, Mozart, Strauss
YOUNGSTOWN, OH (March 1, 2023) – On Friday, March 10, 2023, at 7:30 PM, Guest Conductor, Erik Ochsner, will return to lead the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra in presenting Musical Titans with special guest pianist, David Allen Wehr. This dynamic classical concert will be held at Stambaugh Auditorium and will feature pieces by the great composers Mahler, Mozart, Strauss.
Last year Ochsner made his debut with Youngstown Symphony Orchestra leading performances of Ghostbusters: Live in Concert. Ochsner attended The Pierre Monteux School, is a graduate of Dartmouth College and is a proud Finnish American dual citizen. He is considered by audiences and critics alike to be one of the leading film-with-live-orchestra conductors due to his energy, attention to detail and precise synchronization. He is equally comfortable on the concert stage or leading opera, oratorio and multimedia performances.

Guest Pianist, David Allen Wehr, studied with Peggy Neighbors Erwin in Miami, Florida, Edward Zolas at the Cleveland Institute of Music, and Sequeira Costa at the University of Kansas. Wehr has toured over thirty countries and has won several prestigious awards. Since 2001, he has been on the faculty at Duquesne University’s Mary Pappert School of Music, where he currently serves as Dean and holds the Jack W. Geltz Distinguished Piano Chair.
Tickets are available now for the March 10 concert ranging from $42 to $62, inclusive of all fees. Discounts are available for seniors and students.
