The YSO performs in concerts around Youngstown, but concerts are mainly held both at Stambaugh Auditorium and downtown at the DeYor Performing Arts Center.

From traditional orchestra performances such as the Masterworks, to Pop symphony concerts featuring modern music arrangements, to holiday movies featuring live symphony accompaniment, There’s something for everyone during the YSO season!

The choice is entirely up to you! While traditional dress code is semi-formal and business casual, we welcome you to wear whatever you are most comfortable in, whether that’s jeans and a t-shirt, or a complete suit or elegant dress!

Typically, the crowd is encouraged to clap after a full piece has ended. Clapping is discouraged between movements of a piece, unless otherwise specified by the conductor.

Yes! Every main YSO concert during the season features refreshments which can be purchased in the lobbies. Refreshments usually include chips and candy, soft drinks, and a full bar.

There are two main large lots at Stambuagh Auditorium off of Ford Ave. which hold 450 parking spots. Overflow parking can be found on the streets surrounding Stambaugh, as well as the paved lot and grass lot on Caroline Street between 5th Ave. and Ford Ave.

Guests can utilize public parking lots surrounding the venue or purchase parking passes for designated performances at DeYor Performing Arts Center. Passholder parking is located in the lot on the north side of West Commerce Street. Additional parking is available in downtown Youngstown, with varying pricing.

There are three ways to get tickets: on our website, by calling, or by visiting our box office

Tickets for most events are on sale 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through our website. You can call our box office at 330-259-055 to purchase tickets over the phone, or purchase them in person at the DeYor Performing Arts Center during box office hours (Monday – Friday, 10:00am – 5:00pm) at 260 W. Federal Street, Youngstown, Ohio 44504. Service charges apply to all ticket sales. 

To receive tickets, you can choose to “Print at Home” or choose a “Mobile Ticket”. Print at Home and Mobile tickets will be emailed to you in a PDF attachment and will arrive within 10 minutes of your purchase. Print at Home is available for all performances and parking at Stambaugh Auditorium and DeYor Performing Arts Center. By selecting Mobile Tickets, you can download the tickets into your Wallet app within minutes. 

Yes. “Select Your Own Seat” capability which features an interactive seating chart that enables you to select your own seats.

If you’re unable to use your tickets, you may give them to a friend who would enjoy the performance, or donate them back to the YSO for resale and receive credit for a charitable donation of the purchase price by returning your tickets by phone no later than 2 1/2 hours prior to performance time. Call the Ticket Office at 330-259-9651 to arrange a donation.

There are no refunds on single tickets.

Our doors open one hour prior to all performances. For a relaxing and enjoyable experience, we encourage you to arrive at lease a half hour early.

Introducing small children to music is important to us! We welcome young children to our youth concerts, as well as children approximately age six and over to all performances with a purchased ticket.

Latecomers will be seated at suitable intervals during the program, typically between pieces.

For Youngstown Symphony Orchestra performances, intermission generally lasts twenty minutes. This may vary for certain kinds of performances. Lights will flash shortly before the end of intermission, so that you have enough time to return to your seat before the performance resumes.

No! In fact, it can be a wonderful discovery to simply sit down and listen to whatever the orchestra plays. However, some people like to know a bit about the music before they hear it. For most Youngstown Symphony Orchestra concerts, Program Notes are provided with background information about the works, composers, and guest artists on the program. If you would like to read the Program Notes in advance, they are posted online, usually a week before the concert.
