Youngstown Symphony Orchestra Announces 2025/2026 Season
YOUNGSTOWN, OH (October 27, 2025): The Youngstown Symphony Orchestra (YSO) is thrilled to announce its 2025-2026 season, marking the first under the direction of new Music Director Erik Ochsner. This four-concert series has been thoughtfully crafted to engage new listeners while continuing to delight long-time patrons with a rich blend of beloved classics and dynamic programming.
The season opens on December 22, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. at Stambaugh Auditorium with Hoe for the Holidays, featuring soprano Amanda Beagle in a festive program celebrating the spirit of the season. Beagle joins the orchestra to bring heartfelt spirit and soaring vocals to beloved holiday classics. A native of Howland and former Miss Ohio, Ms. Beagle has shared her talents on stages around the world. A dedicated educator and certified Estill Voice Strainer, she also maintains a thriving private studio, guiding nearly fifty aspiring singers.
YSO opens the new year on January 25, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. officially welcoming Maestro Ochsner with Fantastique! The program culminates in a breathtaking performance of Hector Berlioz’s groundbreaking Symphonie fantastique, a work that forever changed the landscape or orchestral music.
On March 13, 2026, at 7:30 p.m., pianist and vocalist Tony Desare joins the orchestra for Sinatra & Beyond, a swinging salute to “Ol’ Blue Eyes.” Audiences will delight in timeless favorites including “Come Fly with Me,” “I’ve Got the World on a String,” and “My Way.”
The season concludes on May 15, 2026, with Inextinguishable, featuring Carl Nielsen’s Symphony No. 4, “The Inextinguishable.” Written in the shadow of the First World War, Nielsen’s triumphant masterpiece celebrates the indomitable human spirit and the life-affirming power of music itself. A fitting and uplifting finale to an extraordinary season.
