Youngstown Symphony Orcheestra & Tony DeSare Deliver Electrifying Sinatra Concert

YOUNGSTOWN, OH (March 16, 2026): The Youngstown Symphony Orchestra welcomed an enthusiastic crowd to Stambaugh Auditorium on Friday, March 13, for an unforgettable night of music. Acclaimed vocalist and pianist Tony DeSare joined with the orchestra forĀ Sinatra & Beyond, creating an invigorating and high-energy performance that had audiences cheering throughout the evening.

The concert drew 1,300 attendees, making the highest single-concert attendance for the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra this season and underscoring the continued enthusiasm for live orchestral performances in the community.

Led by Music Director and Conductor Erik Ochsner, the orchestra delivered grand symphonic/big band arrangements that perfectly complemented DeSare’s charismatic vocals and virtuosic piano playing. Together, they brought new life to beloved classics including “Come Fly With Me,” “I’ve Got the World on a String,” “New York, New York,” and “My Way,” captivating the audience from the first note to the final standing ovation.

“Tony DeSare is a consummate performer and entertainer,” said Music Director Erik Ochsner. “Some of the highlights of the evening were his original compositions, including ‘How I Will Say I Love You,’ ‘Paris Always Will Have You,’ & ‘Now Orleans Tango.’ I’m incredibly proud of the versatility of our Youngstown Symphony Orchestra. It was wonderful to see strong community support in the audience, including Youngstown Mayor Derrick McDowell.”

The concert experience extended beyond the stage. YSO season members enjoyed a special Membership Lounge, providing a welcoming space to gather and celebrate the evening prior to the performance. Following the concert, patrons had the opportunity to attend a post-concert reception with Ochsner, DeSare, and the musicians, offering a memorable opportunity to connect personally with the artists and gather with attendees.

“The response and energy wa phenomenal on Friday night,” said Matt Pagac, CEO of Stambaugh Auditorium and the Youngstown Symphony. “Tony DeSare, our phenomenal musicians, and Music Director Erik Ochsner on stage created an unforgettable evening of music. The support of YSO has received this season made the night especially meaningful! We invite everyone to come to the May YSO concert and experience an evening at the symphony in Youngstown!”
