“Fore! The Arts” Golf Classic Raises Funds To Benefit Local Performing Arts Organizations

YOUNGSTOWN, OH (August 1, 2023) – The Third Annual “Fore! The Arts” Golf Classic was held on Friday, July 28 to benefit four of the area’s performing arts organizations. The event was held at the Youngstown Country Club and included breakfast, a day of golf, a cocktail reception including a buffet lunch, and presentation of prizes.

The Fore! The Arts Golf Classic raised $65,660.00 to support Stambaugh Auditorium, The Youngstown Playhouse, The Youngstown Symphony Society, and Opera Western Reserve. Proceeds will be used to support programming for the 2023/2024 season, educational initiatives, and outreach activities for the four organizations. Presented jointly by the boards of directors of each organization, this golf outing is an extension of the partnerships that have been formed to share services, reduce costs, expand programming, and preserve the area’s historic performing arts venues.

Youngstown Playhouse Board President and Golf Classic Co-Chair John Cox said, “It was so great to see so many people from the community come out to support the arts. This event keeps getting better and better. Beautiful weather at a beautiful golf course!”

“We are extremely grateful for the support of all those who participated in the Fore! The Arts Golf Classic! We had a great day, lots of fun, and supported four non-profit arts organizations. Without supporters like those who are part of the golf classic, these organizations would not be able to continue serving their missions,” said Matt Pagac, Chief Executive and Operating Officer of the Henry H. Stambaugh Auditorium Association.

In addition to event co-chairs, Scott Schulick and Dr. John Cox, the event committee consists of Terry Cloonan, Paul Homick, Dr. Joe Malys, Rodney Lamberson, the Very Rev. Msgr. Robert Siffrin, and John Yerian III.
