The DeYor An Entertainment Destination

 The DeYor is home to the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra. For 83 years, the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra has contributed to the musical and educational life of the Mahoning Valley. The Society and Orchestra programs have promoted tourism, contributed to the economy and energized the urban cityscape.

The DeYor Center houses the Edward W. Powers Auditorium, Ford Family Recital Hall in the Eleanor Beecher Flad Pavilion, Adler Art Academy and Overture Restaurant.

The DeYor is the only Youngstown (OH) venue equipped to offer all:high-end cultural events and performances,concerts, comedy shows,family entertainmentand fine dining.

THE MARRIAGE OF MUSIC AND ART

AN ART SHOW SPONSORED BY THE YOUNGSTOWN SYMPHONY SOCIETY

VIP PREVIEW NIGHT FRIDAY, APRIL 19, 2013 AT 6 PM

PUBLIC SHOW SATURDAY, APRIL 20, 2013 (10 AM - 6PM)

 DISPLAY SPACES are located inside the DeYor Performing Arts Center in downtown Youngstown. A 10’ x 10’ exhibit space is $100.  Artists will not be permitted to expand past the specified booth dimensions. Hook up to electricity will be $15.  Non-refundable entry fee is $25 and is due with applicant’s registration.

 REPRODUCTIONS must be presented, framed or matted, in portfolios/bins and cannot be displayed on the walls.  Artists must create 100% of all work displayed.  Reproductions should be signed and numbered.

 DISPLAYED WORK should include only the type of work registered by the artist.  Each artist must be present for the VIP Preview and Public Show.

 SALE OF ART will be the responsibility of each artist.  Prices must be clearly displayed.  No commissions will be charged by the Youngstown Symphony Society.  Please, no agents.

 

ACCEPTED MEDIUMS FOR THE SHOW ARE

            Two dimensional work (painting, photography, print making and drawings)

            Glass

            Ceramic

            Fiber (wearable and non-wearable)

            Sculpture (including metal)

            Wood

            Furniture

 

TO BE CONSIDERED, all applicants must submit digital images of work and method by which work will be displayed.  Only submissions via email in jpeg format will be accepted.

 

APPLICATION/REGISTRATION AND ENTRY FEE are accepted until March 22, 2013.  Applicants are encouraged to go on at youngstownsymphony.com to register.  Entry fees are payable by MasterCard, Visa and Discover.

Stainded Glass Concerts

Throughout 2012-2013 season, the Youngstown Symphony String Orchestra with Randall Craig Fleischer will visit houses of worship in the community. 

The ninety minute program for the entire family introduces string instruments with some of the best-loved music of Bach and Britten, Elgar and Mozart and Tchaikovsky, and whenever possible musicians from the host church or a nearby congregation.  All are welcome - no admission fee - dress casually. -

COMPENSATION

Contract compensation for 2012 – 2013 under negotiation with Local 86-242 

All applicants are required to demonstrate either U.S. citizenship or a legal eligibility to accept employment with the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra.
