 Glass Harp

March 27 at 8 PM Sunday, March 28 at 3:30 PM

FORD FAMILY RECITAL HALL

Glass Harp, Phil Keaggy, Daniel Pecchio and John Sferra, reunite for two performances Saturday, March 27 at 8 PM and Sunday, March 28 at 3:30 PM at the Ford Family Recital Hall.  Tickets are available by calling the DeYor Performing Arts Center box office at 330-744-0264 or online at youngstownsymphony.com.

In 2007, Phil Keaggy played Ford Family Recital Hall as part of the Youngstown Symphony Society’s Hometown Heroes Series.  During the concert, Keaggy invited his two band mates from Glass Harp to join him on stage for a song.  The band members enjoyed the acoustics and intimacy of the hall, their time together on stage and playing before the hometown crowd.  They immediately began to discuss the possibility of a Glass Harp concert at the Recital Hall with the Symphony Society.

That 2007 appearance and subsequent conversations with the Symphony resulted in the upcoming Glass Harp reunion concerts in their hometown at the Ford Family Recital Hall.

In the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, the power rock trio called Glass Harp developed a signature sound of their own.  A sound that allowed the members collectively and individually to stretch beyond the confines of standard form.  The lighting style and precise technique of guitarist Phil Keaggy, the rhythmic bass line of Daniel Pecchio and sharp, assertive drumming by John Sferra created a wall of sound that thrilled Glass Harp audiences.  While Glass Harp dissolved on the cusp of achieving mainstream rock stardom, Glass Harp has garnered a loyal and regional following still present today.
